Core Values

​Church Unity

We value a church membership that honors one another and maintains high standards in our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is part of our core values as a church that we will be more interested in others than in ourselves, and in extending God's love to others. We want to be a church that knowns one another's names, and cares for one another in Christ's name.

Local Service

We value serving the community of York Springs through compassionate giving, service projects, and by using our property in town as a community center. We believe that our physical location in York Springs is strategic, and that we are obligated to use the property to serve our community.

Next Generation

We value our families from conception through adulthood. We value instilling Biblical teaching into our children through  faithful parenting in the home, and in activities and dynamic teaching in the church in order to develop a new generation of Christ-following leaders. Our children are part of our church family and we place a high value on our children's safety and spiritual development.

Missionary Mindset

We value a missionary mindset in our church members. Missionaries view the church as a place to serve rather than expecting the church to serve them. Missionaries make our church mission possible, and find joy in their mission work. This gives our church an atmosphere of joy and encouragement.​ It is the opposite of the consumer mindset that is common in our time.

Salt of the Earth

We believe the gospel is meant to saturate and fill all the earth, that Christ has all authority in heaven and earth, and has told us to make disciples of all nations. This means all of our lives, our careers, our families and our daily conversations with others ought to be filled with Christ and centered on him. We believe our faith ought to have tangible and noticeable effects on our community, our education, our institutions, and our nation as a whole.
