We worship Jesus by teaching the Bible, building a loving community, and sharing with others.
WE BELIEVE...
Five "Solas" of the Reformation
We believe, teach, and affirm the “five solas” of the Protestant Reformation as follows:
-
Scripture Alone: We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God revealing the love of God and the truth to the world (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16).
-
By Grace Alone: Salvation is a free gift given by God through the blood of Christ, His son (Romans 4:23-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 4:16; Romans 9:16).
-
Through Faith Alone: We are saved by God’s grace through faith, apart from human works or merit. Justification before God is solely based on Christ’s atoning sacrifice and received through faith (Ephesians 2:8-10; Galatians 2:20; Romans 1:17; Romans 4:16; Philippians 3:9).
-
In Christ Alone: Jesus Christ is the sole mediator between God and humankind. Salvation comes through His life, death, and resurrection, and there is no other name that can save (Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:15-20; John 14:6).
-
To the Glory of God Alone: All things exist for the glory of God and all that he does is done for his own glory (Romans 11:33-36; Ephesians 1:12).
Historic Creeds and Confessions
We owe a debt of gratitude and faithfulness to the historic creeds and confessions of the church, including the Nicene Creed, the Apostles Creed, and the 1689 London Confession of Faith, which have survived the tests of time and persecution and which tie us to the historic and faithful church.

Founding: York Springs Bible Church was originally founded under the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) in 2014. Although we are no longer a Foursquare church, we continue to believe and teach the gospel of Christ our Savior, our Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, our Healer, and our Soon-Coming King.

Statements of Faith
The Godhead
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6).
Christ
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15).

Original Sin and Depravity
Humankind is born with original sin, also called "depravity," which originated in the fall of Adam. There is no one who is righteous, and therefore it is impossible for us to save ourselves from our own condition. All have fallen short, and are enslaved, blind, powerless, and dead in sin. Apart from Christ, even our good works are themselves a form of self-righteous sin, so our only hope is the unmerited grace of God given through His Son Jesus Christ (Romans 3:10-23; Romans 5:12-21; Romans 10:1-4; Isaiah 64:6; Philippians 3:7-8; Ephesians 2:3-5).

The Way of Salvation
We believe that because all men and women everywhere are lost in sin and face the righteous judgment of God, Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Salvation is found in Christ by faith, as a gift of His grace, leading to repentance of sin and the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit to bear the fruits of repentance. Furthermore, we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven in the resurrection and that He will banish the unrepentant to everlasting punishment in hell (Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7).
Particular Atonement
Although the atoning sacrifice of Christ is sufficient for the forgiveness of sin, we also believe that those who are unrepentant and incorrigibly rebellious to God will not be saved. Therefore, we are not universalists. Jesus said the road is wide that leads to destruction and many enter it and the gate is narrow which leads to life and few find it. The name of Jesus Christ is the only name by which we are saved, and those who are unrepentant and reject Christ will not be saved (Matthew 7:13-14; Matthew 5:20; Matthew 22:14; John 6:37, 44).
Perseverance of the Saints
Those who remain in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit will be saved (John 8:31; 1 John 2:19; Romans 8:13; Hebrews 6:4-7).

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose supernatural indwelling enables the Christian to live a holy life and empowers believers to be faithful witnesses to the world (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10).
The Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of Christ from the dead, and in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life in Christ and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment (1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15).

The Great Commission
The Great Commission is Christ's charge to the church. It encompasses all of life and all the world. Christ has all authority in heaven and earth and has given the church the task of discipling, baptizing, and teaching all the nations of the world in the power and ongoing presence of Christ and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Luke 24:47).

Human Sexuality
We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique persons from conception, made to complete each other in His own image. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one naturally born male and female (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9).
Human Life
We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of humankind (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10).
Creation
We believe in God’s intentional and supernatural orderly creation of the universe from nothing as clearly described in the book of Genesis and throughout scripture. We believe all the universe came into being by the spoken word of God, and that God created man and woman uniquely in His unique image to exercise dominion over His creation and steward it for His glory (Genesis 1, Exodus 20:11; Psalm 8; Psalm 33; Colossians 1:16-17; Romans 1:20).

The Church
The church is the family of believers who are saved by God’s grace, built on the cornerstone of Christ and the foundation of the scriptures, and growing together through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word and the active obedience of faith. The church is called the body of Christ and exists to glorify Him by the power of the Holy Spirit with various giftings that strengthen and edify one another into the holiness of God and as witnesses to the world (Ephesians 1:19-22; Romans 1:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12).
Church Unity
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23).
Parenting and Family
We believe that education and discipleship are authorities and obligations given to parents by God. It is the parent's responsibility under God to raise children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and the starting point for education is the fear of God, from which all knowledge and wisdom flow (Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 9:10; Deuteronomy 6:5-9; Mark 9:42).

Tithes and Offering
We believe the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is giving tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7)
